Angela Miniscalco is an Italian artist, who’s graduated from the Academy of Fine Art of Rome with a degree in Scenic Artist. While she was studying, she took the chance to work for the prestigious Opera Theatre of Rome. After her work in the Opera Theatre reached its end she took steps to strengthen her professional development as a freelance artist creating a wide range of paintings, Thrompe d’Oeil and decorations.
She moved to London about 13 years ago and she started working as a freelance in Terry Murphy Studio as a Scene Painter Assistant. Once her daughter was born she had to stop for a while until she developed this need to have some work experience in the National Theatre as a Dye Painter which it helped to enrich her passion towards the use of colours.
She works with important names such as Dante Ferretti, Ubero Bertacca, Gordon Aldred in London and Franco Zeffirelli. With Zeffirelli she realized, as scene painter, La Bohe’me, Pagliacci, La Fille Du Re’giment, Aida and Turandot.
“At present, I feel this urge to continue my path as a freelance artist with the purpose of delivering my emotions as a woman, a mother and as a pure human being through my art using support such as canvas, wood and cardboard.”
