Gidney, Simon

“I am a creative consultant of Visual Art. I paint and create stunning works of original art. My work is unique, my clients ‘realise my precise and exclusive ability’, A lot of my art is striking provocative, controversial and often open to interpretation. Because of this my creations might share a theme, but generally are an eclectic mix of the stuff going on inside of me at the time. My art can be obvious in its content, sometimes surreal, abstract, modern, contemporary and fine. I am qualified in graphic art, I have owned a successful hypnotherapy practice, and my thought processes being audio-visual have developed my own unique technique of ‘hypnartism’ to enable image creation through subconscious ‘mind tracing’ in order facilitate catharsis. I continue to this day to apply this subconscious process when creating my art. I have been around the world visited 72 countries, looked after dying children, written poetry, and built my own house.  I don’t suffer fools gladly, am generally defiant; don’t like control, and I don’t like being told what to do or when to do it. Conformity has no room in my life. My art is based on me knowing that every thing I once considered new and diverse was most likely inspired by something else. Nevertheless I strive for ‘THAT’ original thought, dragged kicking and screaming from the depths of my subconscious, and translating it into this world, creating the ‘first ever’. Even the great Salvador Dali said “Have no fear of perfection – you’ll never reach it.” He realized he could not attain perfection. I know that – knowing what you know will give me what I need to create what you want. I utilise a variety of materials, oil, acrylic, water colour, paints, and plaster, glue, and talcum powder as foundation mixtures. I also use my own self prepared alchemic glaze, (darcryventine), and often complex combinations of materials in mixed media collage. I use two studios, one inside, and as often as i can the other, outside. I hand make bespoke canvas frames for specific work. Other wise use pre-stretched canvas, and whatever I have to hand, be it wood, board, and paper. My early inspiration was Salvador Dali and the Pre-Raphaelite movement. This has grown to include Kandinsky, Majrowski, and my bucket full of my life’s experience. I rate the Dali lama for inner inspiration, and subconscious expression. I look to create discussion and dig up buried emotion. My audience is you those who are not afraid to be different and don’t blame others for their failings. Me in one sentence: “The creation of art is the art of creation”.
