Illesley, Peter

” I’ve been an artist most of my life, and have received several awards and other accolades for my painting and other work. My paintings are in collections in the UK, France and the USA. I live and paint in West London.”

After obtaining his Masters Degree at the Royal College of Art, Peter Burgess (Peter Illesley) undertook several years of training in France, which gives his painting a unique sense of colour.  His work has been both shortlisted and selected at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. His work is in collections in the UK, France and the USA, including the Levison Collection.  He also leads a vibrant painting school in West London.

In 2015 Peter Illesley was awarded First Prize at the OCAS Biennial Exhibition for his “Portrait Study”.  Among his recent portraits is the last portrait painted of Douglas Slocombe OBE BSC, which was displayed at a celebration of Slocombe’s Oscar-winning career and now hangs in Panavision’s London headquarters.
