Kicker, Mario

“In the year 2000 at the age of 18, for the first time, I started drawing on a daily basis  as I needed an outlet for my thoughts about life and people. At the same time I also started to live in different countries and to travel in different continents. Along the way I had the chance to discover a variety of mediums to express myself and after some years of working in all kind of professions I ended up with studying Regional Development in the Netherlands. It was there where I used the comfort of being settled again to build up my painting equipment which allowed me to create bigger works regularly. One day a house mate invited her friend for dinner. She happened to be a gallery owner and offered me a solo exhibition. In the same year I quit my studies in Regional Development and enter  the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, Amsterdam in 2012. Since then I participated in a few group exhibitions, was represented by two online art galleries and tried to make a living with part time jobs to save some money for taking off some time from the duties of every days life. In January 2015 I managed to do so that’s why I could eventually concentrate for about one year solely on working out my ideas and concept. I’m proud to show you now some of its outcome”
