“My work is anchored in images of urban and suburban landscapes: residential blocks, empty industrial buildings, interiors of unspecified use. I am partial to those spaces that are neutral or shadowy, that lie in between the boundaries of what is depicted as solid.”
Antigoni Manolidou was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. She initially studied medicine at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and worked for a short period of time in the medical field. However, she went on to study Visual Arts in the Department of Fine and Applied Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She completed her BA in 2004. From that time she has been working as an art educator and a visual artist showing her work in group exhibitions in Greece and abroad.
