Natalie Iaonnou

“My artwork is greatly inspired by nature and its interaction with our man-made surroundings. Birds are the main subjects in my paintings. By practicing Taxidermy I have gained a feel for the movement of birds, which has heavily influenced my work. I want the viewer to experience something other than a realistic painting of nature, but rather an expression of its feelings, textures and sounds”.

I am raised and educated in London. While growing up on the outskirts of the city, a topical issue was the infringement of building developers on untouched land. Throughout my work I try to remind the viewer of the nature sharing our cities and homes.
